This documentary western tells the story of the Black Forest landscape, which is associated with an idyllic world and deep forests. But how much of it is actually natural? And who decides what nature is anyway? The film follows four people in search of wilderness in the Black Forest, exploring how our ideas about nature arise — and what they reveal about ourselves.
Shot on 16 mm film, it combines poetic images with genre elements paying special attention to the sound design.

The biography of the female elephant Bibi, who is considered to display abnormal behaviour, is marked by misfortunes. On the basis of an empathic reappraisal of these traumatic events the film reflects on the significance of social issues and how to deal with exclusion today: a therapy by proxy on film that will hopefully have a long-distance healing effect on Bibi.
